What made you want to become a chef?
I haven’t always wanted to be a chef. I worked in a cafe when I was younger and even though I never thought I was that creative and I quickly realised I was good at it. I love to learn and I was keen to learn more. I decided I wanted to study and become qualified. From then on nothing was going to stop me (literally nothing).
What is the highlight of your career so far?
For me it is not the amazing places I've cooked or the famous chefs I have cooked under, it was when I became a fulltime temp chef. Becoming a temp chef made me realise how versatile I was and how good I was at fitting in and listening. I also learnt how much I actually knew about the kitchen.
This experience gave me the confidence to start my own venture.
What are some of your hobbies?
I have many and will usually try anything once.
I enjoy being active, mountain climbing, hiking and fitness training. I find they clear my head. I also like to read books on business and empowerment.
Do you have a powerful woman who has guided or inspired you?
Me! The only person I've ever wanted to be or be better than is me.
When I want to do something I set it in my line of focus and I achieve it! No one will stop me once it’s in my vision.
Do you have any words of wisdom for young women wanting to pursue a career as a chef?
'Yes chef!' They are the only words you need to know. Your chef will love you forever.
Listen! Live it! And Love it!
